Sharifah Amani goes bald

I was in total shock this morning when I picked up The Sun on my way to the office, it’s front page caught my attention in blink seconds, Sharifah Amani posing in bald!

It took an immense amount of courage to have her long and lustrous lock shaved off in an attempt to fit into the character of her latest movie, Muallaf (The Convert); directed by none other than our very own Yasmin Ahmad, the awards winning director well known for her television commercial of Petronas, as well as her previous works of Sepet (2004), Gubra (2005) and Mukhsin (2006), each had their share in winning numerous international and local industry’s awards.

According to the news today, Sharifah Amani expressed that she cried over the head shave but come to accept the new look, feeling nothing short of a more liberate person. I have nothing more than salute for this girl. She’s young, beautiful and making herself a household name in the local movie scene by taking such a bold move for a movie’s role.
